Handover contact at Tiny Hearts is designed to ensure smooth, calm, and secure transitions for children moving between parents or carers. This service is especially helpful in cases where communication between adults may be difficult, or where it is important to prevent direct contact between them for emotional or safeguarding reasons.
Our team manages all aspects of arrival and departure, ensuring that each transition takes place in a neutral, safe, and supportive environment. Staggered times are arranged so that parents or carers do not meet unless this has been agreed in advance. Where joint handovers are appropriate, they can take place in the presence of a staff member to maintain a calm and professional atmosphere.
The focus of handover contact is the child’s experience — ensuring that every exchange feels predictable, consistent, and emotionally secure. Staff are present to provide reassurance, comfort, and stability, helping children feel relaxed and confident as they move between parents or carers.
